Mechanical Engineer 2 at SiOnyx

Robert Babson has been working in the engineering field since 2013. Starting in 2013, they were a Crew Member at Longwood Cricket Club, where they integrated and troubleshot a new irrigation system, worked as part of a landscaping and surveying team, and was able to reduce water usage by 15%. In 2015, they were a Mechanical Engineering Technology Student at Purdue University. In 2018, they were an Engineering Intern-Coop at NxStage Medical, Inc. where they were a member of the R&D disposables team, successfully migrated the Product Data Management system to a cloud based service, and created a logging application to reduce filing time and increase BOM consistency. In 2019, they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern at SIONYX, where they designed and developed manufacturing fixtures for a high throughput lens aligning system, and was responsible for 3D CAD design and initial prototyping. Finally, in 2020, they have been a Mechanical Engineer 2 and a Junior Mechanical Engineer at SIONYX.

Robert Babson attended Dexter Southfield School from 2009 to 2012. Robert then attended Boston College High School from 2012 to 2015. Robert subsequently obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University from 2015 to 2020. Robert also obtained a Bachelor of Science from Purdue Polytechnic Institute in May 2020.
