Isaac Tobin PhD

Senior Scientist at SiriusXT

Isaac Tobin PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of laser plasma research and soft X-ray tomography. Isaac started their career at Millward Brown as a Telephone Interviewer from June 2006 to October 2008. Following that, they worked as a PhD Research Student at Trinity College Dublin, where they conducted research on laser triggered discharge plasmas and emission spectra from September 2009 to August 2014. Isaac then joined University College Dublin as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow from January 2015 to June 2017, focusing on driving imaging throughput and optimizing source behavior for a soft X-ray microscope. Isaac Tobin also worked at SiriusXT, initially as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from August 2018 to November 2020, working on improving the stability of the plasma light source used in a soft X-ray tomograph. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Scientist at SiriusXT since November 2020, where they manage one of two soft X-ray tomography systems and contributes to the enhancement of laser produced plasma emission source, vacuum beam path, and microscope arm to further develop high-resolution biological cell imaging tools.

Isaac Tobin, PhD attended Technological University Dublin from 2005 to 2009, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. Following that, they pursued their education at Trinity College Dublin from 2009 to 2014, completing their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Experimental Physics Research.
