Lisa Olsen

Lisa Olsen has a diverse work experience in various editing and instructional roles. Lisa currently works at Slang as an App Content Editor & English Lead since August 2023. Prior to that, they were an Associate Content Editor at Slang from August 2022 to August 2023. Lisa also worked as a Freelance English Editor for MDPI starting in September 2021. Lisa has experience as an Editor at Moral Anxiety Studio in both 2023 and 2020, focusing on editing in-game text and providing feedback during game development. Additionally, Lisa has worked as a Technical Writer/Editor Intern at Schneider Electric Canada's Health and Safety Team from January 2022 to June 2022. Lisa has also held roles as an Editor / Writer on Upwork from July 2020 to December 2021, an Editorial Coordinator at the Chemical Institute of Canada from October 2020 to October 2021, and a LINC Instructor at Ottawa Community Immigrant Services from September 2018 to August 2020. Prior to that, Lisa worked as a Reading Remediation Tutor at The Open Door Educational Services from August 2017 to July 2018, and as a LINC Instructor and Supply Teacher at Ottawa Community Immigrant Services from January 2018 to June 2018 and from September 2017 to June 2018, respectively.

Lisa Olsen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics and Discourse Studies from Carleton University, which they obtained between the years 2013 and 2017. In 2020, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Technical Writing from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology. Lisa also attended the Summer Writers Institute at Washington University in St. Louis in the same year, specializing in the field of Autobiography & Poetry - Revenge on Circumstance. Additionally, Lisa obtained various certifications, including ClickUp Novice Certificate in 2022, Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE) from the Alberta Construction Safety Association in 2022, and Accredited Member of TESL Ontario, ICTEAL, and OCELT from TESL Ontario in 2017.
