Alex Sztein

Alex Sztein has a diverse work experience in the field of process engineering and laser chip development. They are currently working as the Director of Process Engineering at KYOCERA SLD Laser since January 2022. Prior to this role, Alex held positions such as Sr. Manager of Process Engineering, Laser Chip Program Manager, and Advanced Development Fab Manager at the same company. They also worked as a Senior Device Scientist and Device Scientist from 2016 to 2017.

Before joining KYOCERA SLD Laser, Alex was a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Barbara from 2008 to 2013. They also gained research experience as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2008.

Alex Sztein completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in the years 2004-2008. After that, they pursued a higher degree and received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science from UC Santa Barbara between 2008 and 2013.
