Leonardo Pinzon Echeverry

Leonardo Pinzon Echeverry has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Leonardo began their career in 2009 as the Commercial Development Director at Fundación Catalina Muñoz. Leonardo then worked at Rode Kruis Nederland as a Communications Officer & Advocacy in 2012, followed by a role as Communications Officer & News Anchor at Canal Capital in 2013. In 2014, Leonardo served as the Senior Corporate Communications at PADF under the Organization of American States.

Transitioning into the financial sector, Leonardo joined Transfast, a Mastercard Company, in 2015. During their time there, they held multiple roles, including Senior AM Business Development (U.S & CAN) and AML & Fraud Legal Compliance Specialist. In 2019, they joined Mastercard as a Senior AM Business Development & Fraud (U.S & CAN) before moving to Small World Financial Services in 2020 as the U.S Compliance Officer DY.

Leonardo's expertise in compliance and financial services continued to grow as they joined Synapse in 2022 as the CS Compliance Manager. Leonardo then took a leadership position as the Member of the Board of Directors at the Money Services Business Association in 2021. Most recently, Leonardo has been appointed as the Chief Compliance Officer Americas at Small World Financial Services in 2023.

Throughout their career, Leonardo has demonstrated their ability to excel in various roles and industries, showcasing their adaptability and expertise in compliance, communications, and business development.

Leonardo Pinzon Echeverry has a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, which they completed from 2005 to 2012. Leonardo then pursued an MBA in Master Commercial Management & Marketing from EUDE Business School from 2012 to 2014. Currently, they are engaged in a CFPB Remittance Rules Compliance program at Akerman LLP.
