Andrew Carter

Andrew Carter has a diverse work experience in the field of sustainable agriculture and vertical farming. Andrew is the Co-Founder and CEO of Smallhold, a company that focuses on growing mushrooms near consumers to provide high-quality produce at affordable prices. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Agritecture Consulting, where they designed and managed commercial hydroponic systems for various applications. Andrew also served as the North American Regional Manager for the Association for Vertical Farming, aiming to encourage collaboration and sustainability in the field. Andrew has experience as a Hydroponic Specialist at Re-Nuble and as a Head Grower at BrightFarms. Additionally, they worked at Windowfarms LLC, contributing to the design, construction, and education of indoor food gardens. Andrew began their career in landscaping and tree care before transitioning to their current field. Andrew holds a previous role as a Park Tree Care Coordinator at TreePeople and worked as a Library Government Documents and Maps employee at the University of Vermont.

Andrew Carter attended the University of Vermont, where they obtained a degree in Environmental Science with a focus on Ecological Design. Andrew also participated in a program at Techstars in 2017.
