Jan Beníšek

Jan Beníšek has a diverse work experience in data engineering, data science, and business intelligence. Jan most recently worked at Smallpdf as a Staff Data Engineer, starting in December 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Data Engineer at Smallpdf from October 2021. Before joining Smallpdf, they worked at Python Predictions as a Senior Data Engineer from June 2019 to August 2021 and as a Data Scientist from October 2017 to May 2019. Jan also has experience at Test-Aankoop/Test-Achats, where they served as a co-founder and tech leader of their Advanced Analytics activities, responsible for technical solutions and methodologies as a Data Scientist from September 2015 to October 2017. Jan also held the role of Business Intelligence Analyst at Test-Aankoop/Test-Achats from September 2014 to August 2015. Jan'searlier experience includes working as a Data Analyst at Česka spořitelna, a.s. from December 2013 to August 2014, where they participated in designing a new reporting system.

Jan Beníšek completed their Master's Degree in Statistics at KU Leuven from 2016 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Management from the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen from 2009 to 2013. Jan has also obtained additional certifications including "Docker and Kubernetes: The Complete Guide" and "Kubernetes for the Absolute Beginners - Hands-on" from Udemy in 2022, and "Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate" from Microsoft in 2021.
