Brian Downey

Brian Downey has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Brian recently served as the Senior Vice President, Product and Strategy at SmartBear, overseeing product management and overall product strategy, and driving growth through organic development and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Vice President, API Products at SmartBear, where they expanded the API product group and implemented a full API lifecycle platform strategy. Before joining SmartBear, Brian was the Vice President Of Products - Security at ConnectWise, leading the Cyber Security business and achieving significant growth through organic expansion and acquisitions. Brian also served as the Vice President of Security Products at Continuum IT Management Platform, where they played a crucial role in establishing and growing the Cyber Security line of business. Earlier in their career, Brian held positions at BMC Software and EMC, where they led various product management and technical roles, contributing to substantial sales and strategic development.

Brian Downey has a Doctor of Business (DBA) degree from Temple University, which they earned between 2014 and 2018. Prior to that, they obtained an M.B.A. from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, completing it between 2002 and 2005. Brian began their educational journey at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science, graduating between 1997 and 2001.
