Jeremy Howard

Jeremy Howard has a diverse work experience in the field of analytics and genetics. Jeremy is currently serving as the Director of Analytics at Smithfield Foods, where they lead a team in developing data pipelines and predictive models for the hog production group. Prior to this, they worked as a Geneticist at Smithfield Premium Genetics, conducting research to enhance the genetic potential of crossbred animals. Jeremy also gained research experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and as a Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant at North Carolina State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Furthermore, they worked as a Research Assistant for Swine Testing Station at Iowa State University and has undertaken summer internships at Progressive Swine Technologies & DanBred North America and Iowa Select Farms. Overall, Jeremy's work experience spans across various roles in the field of analytics, genetics, and research.

Jeremy Howard holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Animal Sciences (Animal Breeding & Genetics) from North Carolina State University, which they obtained from 2013 to 2017. Jeremy also earned a Master's degree in Statistics from the same university during the same period. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Animal Science (Animal Breeding and Genetics) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2011 to 2012. In 2010, they graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and a minor in Genetics.
