Georg Ell

Georg Ell is the current CEO of Smoothwall, a cyber safety company. Georg has also worked for Craft Ventures, LocalGlobe, and Tenzing. Georg is originally from Perth, Australia.

Georg has a long history of working in tech startups. In 2018, they became the CEO of Smoothwall. Under their leadership, Smoothwall has become a leading provider of safeguarding solutions for schools, parents, and cyber safety educators.

In December 2018, Smoothwall was awarded the Best Companies' Two Star Award for "Outstanding" employee engagement. In November 2019, they went one better and received the Three-Star Award "Extraordinary". They were also honoured as the company that had risen the highest number of places in the rankings in the whole of the UK.

In May 2021, they were awarded Two Stars again and listed as a Top 100 Employers for Mid-Size businesses.

Georg is passionate about making sure that everyone has access to safe internet usage and works hard to make Smoothwall the most trusted safeguarding provider in the world.

Georg Ell completed their undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, where they studied social and political science with management studies. Georg then attended Westminster School for their postgraduate studies.
