Fernando Hinojosa, M.Ed. has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Fernando has worked at SHPE as the Director of PreCollege Programs and Parent Outreach, Research and Impact. Prior to that, they were a Manager of Chapter Operations at SHPE. Fernando also served as a Firefighter at the Alvin Volunteer Fire Department.

In the education sector, Fernando worked at Alvin ISD as the Science Department Head & Instructional Coach. Fernando was also an Advanced Placement (AP) Teacher and received the District Rookie Teacher of the Year award for their exemplary instructional practices. Additionally, they worked at Cummins Inc. as an Aftertreatment Engineer Co-op and at TerraVici Drilling Solutions as a Mechanical Engineering Intern.

Fernando Hinojosa, M.Ed., has a diverse education history. Fernando obtained a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lamar University in 2021. Prior to that, they completed a program at Rice University's Glasscock School of Continuing Studies between 2018 and 2020. For their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Tyler from 2014 to 2018. Fernando started their higher education journey at Houston Community College, where they earned an Associate's degree in Engineering Science from 2013 to 2014. Fernando also completed their high school education and graduated with a High School Diploma from Alvin High School in 2009.

In addition to their formal education, Fernando has obtained various certifications, including Project Execution, Project Planning, Project Initiation, and Foundations of Project Management from Coursera. Fernando also completed the Learn Evolve: Level 1 program from Intellum, the Digital Citizenship and Safety Course from Google, and the AVID DigitalXP: Instructional Practices course from AVID Center. Furthermore, they hold a Math/Physical Science/Engineering certification for grades 6-12 from the Texas Education Agency and a Certified Chapter Leader certification from Johnson & Johnson's SHPE Corporate Readiness Program.
