Anwesha Fernandes

Anwesha Fernandes has a diverse range of work experience in engineering and research roles. Starting in 2023, they worked as a Staff Engineer (Operations) at Sofant Technologies, where they are currently employed. Prior to this, from 2019 to 2022, they held the position of Senior Materials Engineer at Dynex Semiconductor Ltd. From 2015 to 2019, they worked as a Staff Engineer (R&D) at Seagate Technology. Anwesha also has experience in academia, having worked as a Johnson and Johnson Research Fellow (Advanced materials and manufacturing research-Medical devices) at the University of Limerick from 2014 to 2015. Before that, they held the positions of Research Fellow and Engineer at The University of Nottingham from 2009 to 2014. Anwesha started their career as a Research Associate at The University of Glasgow from 2007 to 2009, where they researched cellulose structure and developed innovative methodologies.

Anwesha Fernandes obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physics from the Department of Physics at Goa University from 1999 to 2001. Anwesha then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics at The University of Sheffield from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from the School of Education at The University of Sheffield from 2004 to 2006, focusing on teaching in higher education.
