Richard Smith

Principal Research Engineer at Solvay

Richard Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over 35 years. Richard began their career in 1986 at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, where they worked as a Production Technical Support until 1988. Richard then joined Rhône-Poulenc as a Process Engineer from 1988 to 1996. Richard then worked at Rhône-Poulenc UK as a Production Engineer from 1996 to 2000. Following that, they worked at Rhodia Operations as a Lead Process Engineer from 2000 to 2010. Most recently, Richard has been employed at Solvay since 2011. Richard started as a Senior Process Engineer, responsible for supervising process engineering tasks and project management. In 2019, they transitioned into the role of Principal Research Engineer, which they currently hold.

Richard Smith attended the University of Bradford from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Chemical Engineering.
