Susan Kohl

Dr. Susan Kohl has a wealth of experience in various medical leadership roles. Susan began their career as a Medical Director at the Dallas Center of Rehabilitation in 2009. From 1994, they worked as an Associate Medical Director/Hospitalist at BSW Hospital Medicine in Dallas, where they oversaw various internal medicine hospitalist duties. In 2008, they served as the Assistant Medical Director of Care Coordination and Quality Improvement at Baylor University Medical Center. Additionally, they worked as a Palliative Care Physician on the inpatient consult service at the same institution. In 2013, Dr. Kohl transitioned to the role of Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center and later became the Medical Director of Quality at the Rehabilitation and Wellness Centre of Dallas. Currently, they hold the position of System Medical Director at Sound Physicians, overseeing the hospitalist program at five hospitals in the Ascension St. John system in the Tulsa area.

Dr. Susan Kohl holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin, obtained in 1987. Susan then pursued their MD from UT Southwestern Medical Center, completing their degree in Medicine in 1991. Following this, they completed an Internal Medicine Internship at The University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1992, followed by an Internal Medicine Residency Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center from 1992 to 1994. In 2021, they obtained a Master of Science in Health Care Transformation from The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Kohl is also Board Certified in Internal Medicine since 1994 with recertifications in 2004 and 2014, and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine since 2012.
