Daan Debie has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Daan'srecent position was as the VP of Engineering at Source.ag, where they utilized A.I. to support sustainable agriculture. Prior to that, they worked at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as the Director of Engineering & Architecture, leading teams in developing innovative products for decision making. Daan also played a key role in spearheading KLM's Big Data efforts as the Data Platform Lead/Architect/Coach. Daan was a Management Team member at AIRLINEOPERATIONS.AI, a digital partnership between BCG Gamma, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Boston Consulting Group, where they used artificial intelligence to optimize airline planning and control. Additionally, they have served as a Freelance Software Engineer / Data Engineer / Firestarter at Joy in Coding, a Co-Founder at ChargeGrid, and a Software Engineer at VPRO. Daan has also contributed their expertise as a Firestarter and Software Engineer at Universit and a Data Engineer/Scala Engineer at The New Motion. Daan began their career as a Software Engineer at Info.nl and later became a Lecturer at Hogeschool Rotterdam, teaching courses in Datastructures & Algorithms and Cryptography/Security to graduate students majoring in ICT.

Daan Debie obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Rotterdam University of Applied Science from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2005, they pursued a BMus with Honours in Music & Performance from HKU (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht). Additionally, they studied Music at Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten from 1999 to 2001. In terms of certifications, Daan obtained the following: Machine Learning from Coursera in May 2014, Principles of Reactive Programming from Coursera in December 2013, Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera in November 2013, and Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer from Oracle in January 2012. Daan also has an edX Honor Code Certificate for Introduction to Big Data with Apache Spark, though the obtained month and year are not provided.
