Bacardi Jackson

Interim Deputy Legal Director, Children’s Rights at Southern Poverty Law Center

Bacardi Jackson is the Interim Deputy Legal Director of Children’s Rights at the Southern Poverty Law Center. Bacardi has also worked as an Associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, King & Spalding LLP, and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR). Jackson began their career as a Legal Intern at the Southern Poverty Law Center in 1996 and later became a Summer Associate. Bacardi then went on to work as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Janet C. Hall at the U.S. District Court in District of Connecticut.

Bacardi Jackson attended Memphis Central High School, where they earned a diploma. Bacardi then went on to study at Stanford University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts. Finally, they attended Yale Law School, where they earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence.

Bacardi Jackson works with Scott McCoy - Interim Deputy Legal Director, LGBTQ Rights & Special Litigation, Natalie Kelly - Legal Management Director, and Sybil Hadley - General Counsel. Bacardi Jackson reports to Melvina Ford, Interim Chief Legal Officer.
