Richard Smith MBA, CSP has over 12 years of experience in the field of environmental, health, and safety. Richard currently holds the position of Environmental, Health and Safety Director at Southwire Company since May 2022. Prior to that, Richard worked at Koppers Inc. for almost 8 years, serving as a Corporate Safety, Health and Environmental Business Partner and later as a Corporate Safety Manager. During their tenure at Koppers Inc., they were responsible for managing and implementing worker safety programs and initiatives, conducting safety compliance audits, and providing training workshops. Before joining Koppers Inc., Richard worked as an EHS Engineer at Alcoa, where they managed various aspects of health and safety, including ergonomic assessments, incident management, contractor coordination, and regulatory inspections.
