Fernando Gouvea

Fernando Gouvea is the Carter Professor of Mathematics at Colby College, a position held since September 1991. In addition to academic responsibilities, Gouvea serves as a Member of the Editorial Board for the History of Mathematics Series with the American Mathematical Society and as an Associate Editor for The Mathematical Intelligencer within the Springer Nature Group, both roles assumed in January 2021. Previously, Gouvea was an Editor for Carus Mathematical Monographs and MAA Reviews with the Mathematical Association of America from January 2004 until February 2019. Fernando Gouvea earned a PhD in Mathematics from Harvard University between 1983 and 1987.
