Ambrose Hundal

Ambrose Hundal has five years of work experience in software engineering and web development. Ambrose began their career in 2017 as a Web Developer and Communications Assistant at UC Observatory/Lick Observatory, where they created, maintained, and updated webpages and events on the UCO website using JavaScript and HTML5/CSS. Ambrose also updated the observatory website with upcoming major astronomical events and dates with live server access in PHP, and changed file permissions, group ownerships, and file access on the unix1 server repository files using Linux command interface.

In 2019, Ambrose joined Roku Inc. as a Software Engineer Intern, where they implemented an internal tool for over 250 firmware developers to track and audit critical changes in release branches. Ambrose also developed and deployed a full-stack application in Python (Django) using a Docker container to increase speed and deployment, and reduced the workflow process from 6 to 3 steps by designing an improved user experience using JavaScript.

Ambrose then moved to UCSC Chemical Screening Center as a Full Stack Engineer, where they developed an image analysis tool for increased productivity and streamlined workflows using Express (Node. js) and JavaScript. Ambrose also created 4 different Python scripts to write to MySQL database to automate data updates.

Most recently, in 2021, Ambrose joined DocuSign as a Software Engineer. In 2022, they will join Sprinter Health as a Software Engineer.

Ambrose Hundal began their educational journey at Santa Clara High School from 2011 to 2012. Ambrose then attended Granada Hills High School from 2012 to 2015, where they studied Computer Science. In 2016, they completed a Front End Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp. Finally, they graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.S in Computer Science, Technology and Information Management in 2020.
