Rui Matos

Rui Matos, MSN, RN, NEA-BC has over 20 years of work experience in the healthcare industry. Currently, they are the Director of Nursing for the Medical Surgical Division at St. Joseph's Health since May 2019. Prior to this role, Rui served as the Director at Hackensack Meridian Health from December 2017 to May 2019. They also held various positions at Saint Clares Health, including Administrative Director of Nursing, Director of Medical Surgical Services, Operations Manager for the Medical/Surgical department, Patient Care Manager, and Assistant Patient Care Manager. Rui started their career as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Health, specializing in the Telemetry Unit. They also worked as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Atlantic Health System.

Rui Matos, MSN, RN, NEA-BC completed their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with a focus on Leadership and Health Care Systems Management at Drexel University from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Rutgers University - Newark between 1995 and 1999. Additionally, Rui has acquired several certifications, including a Certificate in Healthcare Design and Innovation from Villanova University (expected in 2023), Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC) from ANCC (obtained in October 2022), Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (obtained in March 2019), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) also from the American Heart Association (obtained in January 2019).
