Chad Wagner

Chad Wagner has a strong background in technology and leadership roles. Chad started their career as a Lead Web Engineer at the University of Minnesota, where they focused on building a CMS for the College of Liberal Arts and maintaining a secure database. Chad then moved on to roles such as Vice President/Producer at Astral Entertainment and Vice President, Engineering at the Minneapolis Star Tribune, where they led the technology team and implemented a data-centric approach to application architecture. Chad also has experience as a Director, Digital Technology at the Star Tribune, where they managed the team through bankruptcy restructuring and built cost-effective applications. Wagner has also worked as a Production VP/Web Technology Project Manager at Avastone Technologies, LLC and Frozen Codebase LLC, where they led projects for clients such as the United States Army. Chad has teaching experience as an Adjunct Instructor at ITT Technical Institute, and has held roles such as Group Online Producer at Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers and Online Producer/Editor at St. Cloud Times, where they focused on content management and web design.

Chad Wagner obtained a BA degree in English: Language, Literature, and Creative Writing from the University of Minnesota, where they attended from 1999 to 2003. In addition to their degree, Chad Wagner also obtained a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from the Scrum Alliance in March 2021.
