Sanjay S. has a diverse work experience in various roles related to bioinformatics, genomics, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Sanjay began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Indian Institute Of Technology, where they worked on computer-aided process modeling and simulation. Sanjay then moved on to the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, where they worked as a Research Fellow, developing decision-support modules using Bayesian Belief Networks.

After this, Sanjay joined Honeywell Laboratories as a Systems Engineering Associate for a brief period. Following that, they worked at the University of Georgia as a Tech Lead, leading a team in the development and implementation of a WWW-accessible Expert System. During their time at the university, they also worked as a Bioinformatics Researcher and Software Developer at the SouthEast Collaboratory for Structural Genomics, where they developed a high-throughput pipeline for protein-structure prediction.

Sanjay then returned to India and worked as a Senior Engineer and Tech Consultant, specializing in cybersecurity and B2B/B2C e-commerce. Sanjay used machine learning algorithms to secure unified communications against VoIP spam and developed e-commerce platforms using LAMP, Google Search Appliance, and RESTful API.

Afterward, they joined Kansas State University, where they held various roles including Bioinformatics and Genomics Researcher, Tech Architect, and Tech Manager. During their time at the university, they implemented a high-availability pipeline for life-science data analysis and collaborated on the development of an algorithm called "pre-pairing".

Currently, Sanjay is working at Strand Life Sciences as a Senior Scientist and a Senior Bioinformatics Engineer IV. Sanjay is responsible for clinical diagnostics, bioinformatics, and genomics in India's first CAP and NABL-certified clinical laboratories. Sanjay has expertise in high-throughput next-generation sequencing and variant science.

Throughout their career, Sanjay has demonstrated a strong background in bioinformatics, genomics, algorithms, SaaS, agile SDLC, and data visualization. Sanjay has experience in product development, big data, and distributed computing.

Sanjay S.'s education history includes a Master of Science (MS) degree in Artificial Intelligence from The University of Georgia, which they obtained from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from 1996 to 1998.
