Katherine Spencer has extensive work experience in user experience design and visual design. Katherine started their career in 1994 as a Project Manager, Art Director, and Scenic Designer in a freelance capacity. From 2002 to 2008, they worked as a Graphic and Web Site Designer at Spencer Design Group. In 2002, they also became a Faculty Instructor at the Design Institute of San Diego, a role they held until 2007. From 2008 to 2014, they worked at Fehr & Peers as a Senior Visual Designer and Data Visualizer. In 2008, they also became an Adjunct Faculty member at the Art Institute until 2012. In 2014, they joined JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a Senior User Experience Designer until 2015. From 2012 to 2017, they worked as an Adjunct Instructor at TechShop, Inc. Their most recent roles include Senior User Experience Designer at SugarCRM from 2015 to 2019, Director of User Experience from 2019 to 2021, and Senior Director of User Experience from 2021 to the present.

Katherine Spencer has a Master of Science degree in Human Factors from San Jose State University, which they obtained between 2008 and 2011. Prior to that, they attended Carnegie Mellon University from 1990 to 1994 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater Scenic and Lighting Design.
