Stephanie Miles

Stephanie Miles, PhD, has a diverse work experience in communications and research. Currently, they serve as the Deputy Director of Communication Research at Fors Marsh. In this role, they oversee communication research and plays a key role in managing research projects.

Prior to that, Stephanie worked as a Managing Researcher for the "We Can Do This" Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) COVID-19 Public Education Campaign. Stephanie led qualitative and quantitative testing among vaccine-hesitant audiences and coordinated efforts across research streams. Their responsibilities also included defining the target audience, designing and implementing testing protocols, analyzing data, and providing recommendations for adjusting creative assets.

Stephanie has also held positions in the agricultural research sector. As the Director of Communications at Supporters of Agricultural Research Foundation, they developed a strategic communications plan and managed a website redesign project. Stephanie also worked at the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research, where they served as the Acting Director of Communications and Legislative Affairs, leading communication outreach efforts and assisting with federal relations strategy.

Earlier in their career, Stephanie gained experience as a Communications Associate at the Partnership for a Healthier America, where they contributed to day-to-day operations and was promoted from intern to a temporary part-time worker. Stephanie has also worked as a research assistant at the University of Iowa, focusing on public health communication, and as a Student Services and Communications Coordinator at Tippie School of Management.

Stephanie Miles, PhD, obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Agricultural Communications, Electronic Media, and Japanese from Texas Tech University in 2009. Stephanie then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Mass Communication from Texas Tech University in 2010. Their educational journey continued at the University of Iowa, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mass Communication/Media Studies in 2016. Additionally, Stephanie obtained a certification in Fundamentals of digital marketing from the Google Digital Academy (Skillshop) in 2023.
