Ara Brutian

Ara Brutian has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ara is currently the Head of R&D and Senior Vice President at Morningstar Sustainalytics, leading the Research and Development team. Their focus is on early-stage innovation in AI, methodology, and product design. Ara also leads a strategic project on automation of data collection and research processes. Before joining Morningstar Sustainalytics, Ara held various positions related to digital innovation and communications at Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia. Ara was responsible for creating and implementing effective internal and external communication strategies, managing media relations, and crisis resolution. Prior to that, they worked as a Lecturer in Strategic Communications at Yerevan State University and as a Senior Media and Communications Specialist at Casals and Associates, Inc. Ara also has experience in government services and academia, including roles as a Communications and Training Specialist at PA Government Services Armenia and as a Lecturer in Communications at the State Academy for Public Administration of Armenia. Ara began their career as a researcher and media analyst at the Geopolitics Research Group of the National Academy of Sciences and as an Information Analysis Specialist and Public Relations Specialist at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. Ara has a strong background in communications, digital innovation, and AI, making him a valuable asset in their current role.

Ara Brutian has an extensive education history. Ara obtained a Certificate of Achievement in Philosophy of Language from the University of London in 2023. Prior to that, they completed a BA in Philosophy with Computing from the University of London from 2014 to 2021, specializing in areas such as Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence, Philosophy of Mind, Metaphysics, and Political Philosophy.

Brutian also holds an MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2007. Ara earned an MA in International Communications from the University of Leeds in 2003. Additionally, they obtained a Candidate of Sciences (PhD) in Political Communication from Yerevan State University in 2001, following their BSc in Economics from the same institution from 1993 to 1998.

In terms of additional certifications, Brutian has obtained various qualifications. These include Quantum Computing Fundamentals and Introduction to Quantum Computing, both from MIT xPRO in 2022. Ara also holds a Certificate in Data Analysis for Management from LSE in 2021, a Qualified Certificate in Information Service Engineering from Hasso Plattner Institute in 2018, a Digital Product Management certification from BrainStation in 2016, and a Certificate of Professional Study in International Relations from The Fletcher School at Tufts University in 1999.
