Allison B. Halpern

Allison B. Halpern has extensive work experience in the field of civil and environmental engineering. Allison B. is currently employed as a Lead Bridge Engineer at T.Y. Lin International, starting in May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at HNTB from August 2014 to May 2021, serving as a Senior Project Engineer in the Bridge department. Allison also has teaching experience, having worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Princeton University from September 2019 to January 2020. Allison B. held various instructional roles at the McGraw Center for Teaching and Learning and the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Princeton University from 2008 to 2013. Additionally, they gained industry experience as a Structural Engineering Intern at RTKL (now Arcadis) in 2007 and as a Land Development Engineering Intern at Patton Harris Rust & Associates (now Pennoni Associates) in 2006.

Allison B. Halpern received their Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with a major in Structural Engineering and minor in Architectural Studies from Tufts University in 2008. Allison B. then pursued their education at Princeton University, where they obtained a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) in Civil and Environmental Engineering, specializing in Mechanics, Materials, and Structures from 2008 to 2010. Allison B. continued their studies at Princeton and earned a Master of Arts (MA) in Civil and Environmental Engineering in the same field from 2010 to 2012. Finally, Allison B. Halpern obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a focus on Mechanics, Materials, and Structures from Princeton University in 2014. Allison B. has additional certifications as a Professional Engineer (PE) from the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, New York State Education Department, and the Maryland Department of Labor. Allison B. is also a certified Structural Engineer (SE) by the Nevada Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors and received the Professional Engineers Ontario certification as a Professional Engineer (PEng).
