Shanie Matthews has a diverse background in various industries. Shanie began their career in 1995 as the Head Emergency Medical Technician Supervisor at Squaw Valley Ski Corp, where they were responsible for managing fellow employees and handling injuries. In 1999, they worked as the Owner/Manager of Mountain Fresh Housecleaning until 2005. During this time, they also served as an Assistant Chef and Tail Guide at Points North Heli-Adventures, Inc.

In 2005, Shanie started their freelance writing career, specializing in creating engaging content for magazines, websites, and marketing materials. Shanie has contributed to well-known outlets such as Moonshine Ink, Gary Player Magazine, International Living, SheKnows.com, Patagon Journal, and Transitions Abroad.

In 2009, Shanie co-founded the Mountain Rider's Alliance, an organization focused on sustainable mountain recreation. Shanie also established their own business, My Happy Path, where they served as the Owner/Founder, offering yoga therapy services.

In 2013, Shanie joined Tahoe.com as the Head Blogger and Content Strategist. Shanie was responsible for creating and managing all written content, ensuring its quality and search engine optimization.

From 2015 to 2017, Shanie worked at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge as a Massage Therapist and Lead Yoga Teacher. In 2016, they also took on the role of Head Goat Herder at Happy Path Farms, where they utilized goats to clear unwanted vegetation from properties.

Currently, Shanie works as a Content Strategist at Brand Market Media, specializing in B2B marketing. Shanie'sprimary focus is developing content strategies aligned with business objectives and target audience needs to generate leads and achieve goals.

Shanie Matthews began their education journey in 1988 at Sehome High School, where they completed their secondary education. Following this, from 1991 to 1995, they attended Western Washington University and pursued a degree in Communications, with a focus on German Language and Literature. In 1993 to 1994, Shanie briefly studied at the University of Utah, specializing in Emergency Medical Technician training. After a significant gap in their educational pursuits, they resumed their studies in 2018 at the Ananda School of Yoga and Meditation. Shanie successfully completed their Masters in Yoga Therapy in 2020.
