Nitin Parab

Head of Engineering (Core Product https://github.com/temporalio) at Temporal Technologies

Nitin Parab is currently serving as the Head of Engineering for Core Product at Temporal Technologies since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Nutanix from November 2017 to August 2022 as the Senior Director of Technology in the CTO Office. At Nutanix, they were responsible for leading the CTO office, founding and leading Nutanix Cloud Clusters, and defining the cloud product strategy.

From December 2015 to November 2017, Nitin worked at Izel Technologies Pvt. Ltd. as a Partner and CTO. During this time, they focused on building new products and features and leading a team for clients. Nitin also contributed innovations that were demonstrated by the startup client to raise the next round of funding.

Before that, from July 2012 to December 2015, Nitin served as the Chief Architect at Axcient. Nitin played a crucial role in transforming the company from a small backup service provider to a Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) company serving the mid-market. Nitin also led the design and delivery of a new DRaaS on AWS and collaborated with the CEO to raise additional funding for the company's transformation.

From November 2005 to June 2012, Nitin worked at Riverbed Technology, Inc. as an Engineering Leader in Advanced Development. During their tenure, they partnered with the CTO to identify new product opportunities and successfully architected three new storage products, two of which were brought to market. Nitin was also involved in the development of the Cloud Storage Accelerator, a backup storage product that utilized Riverbed's core dedupe technology.

Prior to that, Nitin held positions as a Member Technical Staff at Onstor Inc from April 2003 to November 2005, a Member Technical Staff at Zambeel Inc from January 2001 to March 2003, and as a Research Staff at the Parallel Data Lab, Carnegie Mellon University from January 2000 to December 2000.

Their career began at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, where they served as a Member Technical Staff from July 1997 to December 1999. During their time there, Nitin led a team in the design and development of the network stack for the PARAM 1000 Clustered Supercomputer and contributed to the development of low-level network protocols and MPI implementation.

Nitin's early career includes a role as an Assistant Systems Analyst at Tata Consultancy Services from 1994 to 1996.

Nitin Parab holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from Goa University. The specific duration of their studies is not provided.
