Gavin Mendel-Gleason

Gavin Mendel-Gleason has worked in the software industry since 2000. Gavin began their career at Elsevier MDL as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for the robotics component of the Afferent Combi-chem software suite. In 2004, they became the Chief Technical Officer of Aeroglyph Inc., developing Caveat Caller and branching into deductive database technologies targeting the medical lab industry. From 2005 to 2011, Gavin worked at Cognotent Ltd. as a Software Developer, writing blog aggregation and blog-post clustering software using indexing technology and text clustering algorithms. From 2011 to 2015, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin, developing logic inference technology for semantic web databases on the ALIGNED EU project. Since 2018, Gavin has been the Chief Technology Officer at TerminusDB, applying logic and formal methods to industry software practice for database design.

Gavin Mendel-Gleason obtained a B.S. in Physics and Maths from The University of New Mexico between 1998 and 2003. Subsequently, they pursued a PhD in Computer Science at Dublin City University between 2007 and 2010.
