LPA Commander, South Oxfordshire & the Vale of White Horse at Thames Valley Police

Superintendent Lis Knight joined Thames Valley Police in 2003, after starting her career as a police officer in the West Midlands.

Having worked within the fields of Domestic Abuse, Intelligence, and Neighbourhood policing, Supt Knight then became a Detective Chief Inspector for the force’s Criminal Investigation Department within Oxfordshire.

Most recently, Supt Knight was the Business lead for a force wide project, which has seen the delivery of localized investigation teams in each LPA.

Having undertaken a Master’s degree in Police Management and Leadership, Supt Knight is a firm believer in Evidence Based Practice, combining academic rigour and analysis with the experience and practicalities of policing.

Supt Knight is also the Chair of the Thames Valley Women’s Network, and is passionate about supporting and helping women develop throughout their careers.
