David Gertler

Tennis Analyst at The Action Network

David Gertler has a diverse work experience that spans across different industries and roles. David currently works as a Tennis Analyst for Action Network where they break down mainly women's tennis matches with a data-centric approach to provide actionable predictions. David also works as an Academic Advisor at Vanderbilt University where they advise freshman and sophomore students on their classes, university policies, and general advice. Prior to this, they advised engineering students at the University of North Florida and gained experience working in Banner and Degree Works from this position.

David is also a Tennis Writer for Last Word on Tennis and Cracked Racquets where they write a variety of articles on topics regarding the WTA and ATP Tours. David previously worked as a graduate student worker for the student services center in Vanderbilt University's Athletics, where their job included checking student-athletes in-and-out of the center, supervising student-athletes, and answering calls and questions from anyone who comes into the student services center.

Additionally, David worked as an Athletics Tutor for the University of Michigan and interned as summer staff for the Dogwood Campus of Youth Villages, a level 3 residential treatment facility for youth with behavioral and emotional problems. David also conducted independent summer research at Tulane University.

David Gertler obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Later, they pursued a Master of Education degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Vanderbilt University, completing it in 2021.
