Andrew Messing

Andrew Messing, Ph.D., is an accomplished applied scientist at The AI Institute since February 2023, with a rich background in robotics and computer engineering. Prior to this role, Andrew served as a doctoral research assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology, where significant contributions included the development of innovative algorithms for multi-agent planning and task allocation. Andrew held multiple engineering positions at Georgia-Pacific LLC, focusing on mission planning for quadruped robots and automation systems. Experience also includes software development for Kaarta and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where projects involved advanced algorithms for 3D printing and robotic movement. Educational achievements encompass a Ph.D. in Robotics and a Master's in Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, along with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering.
