Jennifer Pitts has extensive work experience in the field of human services, with a focus on community support and management. Jennifer is currently serving as the Director of Community Support Services at Charles Lea Center since October 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Business Manager at Upstate Multi Service starting in April 2021.
From October 2020 to April 2021, Jennifer held the position of Executive Director at Community Options, Inc., where they oversaw all operations in the SC Regions, including residential, employment, and day habilitation services. Jennifer ensured compliance with state-mandated service definitions and licensing regulations, managed case management responsibilities, and maintained compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Jennifer's earlier experience includes working at Charles Lea Center from 2010 to 2020. As the Director of the Customized Career Network department, they led and supported the team in meeting regulatory licensing mandates. Jennifer also handled budget preparation and management, and maintained a high level of compliance with quality assurance programs.
Additionally, Jennifer served as a Residential Area Manager at Charles Lea Center from 2010 to 2011. In this role, they ensured the delivery of quality services and supports through case management reviews, facility inspections, and monitoring of service documentation. Jennifer also analyzed service data and made recommendations as needed.
Jennifer Pitts obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from the University of South Carolina. Jennifer then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Human Service Counseling from Liberty University from 2020 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, Jennifer has obtained several certifications. These include the South Carolina Providers Executive Leadership Certification from SOUTH CAROLINA HUMAN SERVICES PROVIDERS INC in 2017, the Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) from APSE - Association of People Supporting EmploymentFirst in February 2014, the Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators certification from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014, and the Grassroots Leadership Development Institute certification from The Spartanburg County Foundation in 2014.
