Director Of Operations at Nuclear Threat Initiative

Laura Kiefer has over ten years of work experience. Laura started their career in 2010 as a Federal Policy Intern at the Ohio Office of the Governor, where they conducted research and produced newsletters on human trafficking and legislative impact. In 2011, they interned at the Alliance of Artists and Recording Companies, assisting with document scanning, public relations, and database management. Laura also interned at the Amani Ya Juu Foundation, where they worked on grant proposals, donor relations, and office management. In 2012, Laura worked as a Research and New Media Intern at the National Defense University, analyzing web traffic and managing social media platforms. Since 2013, they have been working at the Nuclear Threat Initiative, starting as a Receptionist and progressing to positions such as Administrative Assistant, Executive/Development Assistant, and Director of Administrative Operations. Laura currently holds the role of Director of Operations.

Laura Kiefer completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies, International Development, and International Business from American University between 2008 and 2012. In 2011, they briefly attended United States International University - Africa to study Sustainable Development and Kiswahili.
