Tamra Saayman has extensive work experience in internal audit and finance roles. Tamra currently serves as the Director Internal Audit - Office of the Chief Operating Officer at The University of Queensland, where they are responsible for overseeing internal audit activities. Prior to this, they held the position of Associate Director Internal Audit - Office of the Vice-Chancellor at the same university. Tamra has also held various other roles at The University of Queensland, including Associate Director (Finance Projects) and Associate Director Internal Audit. In addition to their work at the university, Tamra Saayman has served as the Chair of the Finance, Risk, and Audit Committee and as a Council Member at The Women's College within The University of Queensland. Tamra has also been a member of the Risk and Audit Committee at QTAC. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Head of Internal Audit at Barloworld, a global industrial group, and as a Senior Audit Manager / Director at Deloitte South Africa.
Tamra Saayman holds a B Com (Hons) degree in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg, which they obtained from 1992 to 1995. Tamra also holds a membership as a Chartered Accountant from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. In addition, they completed the GAICD program at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2018. Tamra attended Kingsmead College until 1991, although no degree or field of study is specified.
