Kate McCarthy has held a variety of roles over the past decade. From 2011 to 2017, they worked at Thrive Causemetics Inc. in a range of positions, including Manager of People & Company Culture, Customer Experience Manager, Customer Experience Operations Specialist, Customer Experience Coordinator, Customer Service Lead, and Customer Service Representative. From 2015 to 2017, they were an Agile Learning Facilitator at Agile Learning Centers. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Student House Manager at PlayMakers Repertory Company. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2013, they were a Facilitator and Collaboration Coach at The Center for Collaborative Awareness.

Kate McCarthy obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2011 to 2015. In 2014, they also studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In addition, they earned a Certified Facilitator, The Blueprint of We Collaboration Process from the Center for Collaborative Awareness in August 2011 and an Agile Learning Facilitator certification in July 2015.
