Marketing Director: Beverages at Tiger Brands

Linda Appie has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Linda started their career as an Assistant Brand Manager at Tiger Brands Ltd in January 2006, and later became a Brand Manager in the Occasions department. In 2007, they joined Coca Cola as a Brand Manager, where they worked on projects and innovations for Nestea and Chaywa. In 2009, Linda moved to Coca-Cola South Africa as a Brand Manager for their water portfolio, eventually becoming a Senior Brand Manager overseeing brands such as Bonaqua, Valpre, Glaceau VitaminWater, and Fuze Tea. Linda joined Coca-Cola Central Africa in 2015 as a Regional Marketing Manager, responsible for the business development and marketing of still beverages across multiple African markets. In 2018, Linda pursued their MBA at the Gordon Institute of Business Science, focusing on General Management, Leadership, Innovation, and Strategy. Following their MBA, they worked as a Marketing and Business Strategy Consultant before joining Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa as a Channel Development Specialist. Linda'smost recent role is Chief Marketing Officer at TymeBank, where they led marketing and communications efforts and played a role in the company's acquisition of Retail Capital. Linda is currently employed as the Marketing Director for Beverages at Tiger Brands.

Linda Appie has a diverse education history. In 1994, they obtained their Matric Certificate from Iona Convent, Pretoria. Linda went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Science degree in Marketing from the University of Cape Town in 2003. In 2017, Linda enrolled at GIBS Business School and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in General Management (PGDip). In 2018, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree specializing in Innovation, Strategy, and General Management from GIBS Business School. That same year, Linda also obtained a Digital Marketing Certificate from the University of Cape Town. In 2021, they attended The Wharton School for a Women’s World Banking Women Advancing Leadership program. Additionally, Linda is scheduled to undertake a Certificate program at GIBS Business School in 2023.
