Carey Schwaber Armstrong

Co-Founder & COO at Tomo

Carey Schwaber Armstrong is the Co-Founder and COO at Tomo. Carey was previously the Vice President, Premier Agent at Zillow Group from January 2013 to December 2020.

Carey is responsible for business, revenue, and product strategy for the $1B Premier Agent business, as well as the core operations required to secure inventory for the business and support real estate agent customers. With a team of more than 500 strategists, product managers, operations professionals, and call center reps, Carey has been responsible for connecting 2 million consumers a month to real estate agents who could help them take the next step in their home search.

Under Carey's leadership, the Premier Agent team has transformed from a model where leads were delivered to agent inboxes to one where consumers told us when they wanted to tour a home and we lined up an agent to meet them there. The team has also launched programs to concentrate consumer referrals with high-performance teams that are paid on a success fee basis.

The result of this transformation has been massive gains in the number of real estate transactions we drove, the consumer satisfaction we delivered, agent advertising ROI, and Premier Agent revenue.

During their 7-year tenure at Zillow, Carey also worked in a variety of other areas. Carey joined as Director of Product Management to launch monetization of our rentals marketplace. Carey led Zillow's acquisition of Trulia, among other deals, as Zillow's first Head of Corporate Development. For a time they were focused on driving Zillow listing quality in their role as Chief of Staff to our Chief Industry Development Officer.

Carey Schwaber Armstrong earned their MBA in strategy from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and their BA in English Language and Literature from Harvard University.

Carey Schwaber Armstrong reports to Greg Schwartz, Co-Founder & CEO. They work with Guthrie Paterson - SVP, Legal & Finance, Tad Hensley - SVP, Mortgage, and Sarah Makar - CMO.
