Meet the team:  

Join our dynamic, transatlantic team from the US and Germany. We specialize in writing subsystem requirements for key hardware components, including Lidars, Cameras, Radars, and Actuators within the System Design group. 

What you will do: 

  • Use model-based system engineering (MBSE) to specify Sensing related Autonomous Driving Functions. 
  • Allocate functional and performance requirements, making sure they cascade down to the various stakeholders and abstraction levels of the system.  
  • Provide comprehensive advance systems expertise in integrating and bringing architecture changes and component revisions. 
  • Write verification proposals and executing systems integration tests at different abstraction levels of the system such as Hardware in Loop (HiL) and Software in Loop (SiL). 
  • Manage requirements across the V-cycle establishing traceability with product, system, hardware, software, and verification & validation teams. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure requirements are consistently met and the desired functionality achieved  
  • Implement systems engineering processes cross-functionally with other teams including review & support of requirements, and evaluate architecture robustness. 
  • Inform system design decisions across hardware and software of the Virtual Driver according to established industry standards and best practices. 

What You’ll need to succeed: 

  • Masters in Computer Science, Aero/Math/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a related & 2+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s with 5+ years of applicable experience.   
  • Excellent technical judgment and intuition in the field of automated driving. 
  • Expertise with sensing technologies like Lidar, Camera and Radar. 
  • Experience with requirements engineering and requirements writing. 
  • Ability to turn ambiguity into technical direction. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Take lead and drive decisions. 
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues and justify solutions with data. 
  • Good soft skills and the ability to positively influence others.  
  • Experience with safety critical systems. 
  • Fundamental understanding of sensors, electronic control units and embedded systems. 
  • Experience developing system architectures and ability to determine tradeoffs, and optimize solutions. 
  • Ability to read code (C/C++, Python). 
  • Automotive industry experience.

US Pay Range
$139,000$166,800 USD
