Maria Rocio Bonilla

Maria Rocio Bonilla has over six years of professional experience in operations and consulting. From 2018 to present, they have been the Head of Operations at Toybox Labs, where they are responsible for forecasting inventory levels and managing sell through rates, leading relationships and integrations with 3PL's, carriers, and freight forwarders, and facilitating new partnerships, purchase agreements, and compliance with different retailers. From 2017 to 2018, they were the Head of Operations at Adelante Shoe Co., where they led the production team, created workflows to reach output targets and increase productivity, managed and optimized fulfillment strategy, logistics network, and distribution center, and built and sustained relationships with suppliers to meet sustainability and quality standards. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Consultant and Analyst at FUNDESA Guatemala, where they conducted economic research for sectors including innovation, education and micro-enterprises, facilitated innovation workshops to 60+ SME's in Guatemala, and co-developed, coordinated and managed public/private sector initiatives and projects. In 2016, they were an Operations Intern for a 6-month program at Kiva, where they led Kiva's expansion in Baltimore by actively working with entrepreneurs and liaising with advisors, trustees and corporate partners to increase impact in the region, on-boarded 60+ entrepreneurs, reviewed applications, posted and edited profiles, advised through fundraising periods to increase success rates, and led Kiva Marketplace project to help 100+ entrepreneurs access larger markets.

Maria Rocio Bonilla has a diverse educational background. In 2021, they obtained a Certificate in Big Data Analytics (Python) from York University. In 2015-2016, they completed their Master of Social Entrepreneurship from Hult International Business School. Maria Rocio also earned a Bachelor of Business Economics from York University in 2010-2013. Additionally, they hold two certifications: Gimi Institutle Level 1: Innovation Associate from IXL Center (obtained in September 2014) and Participación Desafios de la Libertad Universidad IPEA 2014 from Instituto de Pensamiento Estratégico Ágora A.C. (obtained in July 2014).
