How you’ll make an impact:

As a Commercial Agronomist at Trace, you will occupy a highly visible role within the company, interfacing directly with customers, prospects, and partners. Your primary responsibilities will include applying your extensive agronomic knowledge to address customer challenges and translating complex soil data into understandable insights for non-experts.

This is a remote opportunity and requires the ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Educate key retail-agronomy customers on utilizing Trace's offerings, simplifying complex data into actionable agronomic recommendations for both technical and non-technical clients.

  • Support Trace's Technical Sales Managers and their customers in achieving success with our products and in their broader business operations using a proactive, data-driven approach.

  • Provide valuable feedback and insights to guide Trace's R&D, Product, Lab Operations, and Commercial strategies in alignment with business goals.

  • Establish and maintain agronomic credibility and trust with customers.

  • Act as a primary agronomic consultant for results delivery, transforming Trace Genomics’ innovative product solutions into practical agronomic actions and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. A Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or Plant Nutrition, with at least 3 additional years of related experience or training, is preferred.

  • Deep knowledge and background in agronomy.

  • Proficient in proof of concept development and demonstration strategies.

  • Experience participating in professional RFP/RFQ responses.

  • Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts and technologies.

  • Relevant experience in a dynamic sales environment, preferably within the agricultural sector.

  • Demonstrated capacity to work effectively across various functional groups in a product-oriented organization.

  • A solid understanding of plant nutrition and soil fertility.

  • Strong communication skills, including oral, presentation, and written abilities.

  • PCA or CCA certification is preferred.

Additional Requirement:  Ability to travel 30% of the time.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver significant value to Trace’s clientele while working on the forefront of agricultural technology.
