Atul Awate

Atul Awate has extensive experience in software engineering and leadership roles. Atul is currently serving as the Senior Director of Software Engineering at TraceLink since August 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Software Development at TraceLink from June 2019 to July 2021.

Before joining TraceLink, Atul worked at Control as the Head of Engineering from July 2018 to March 2019. In this role, they rearchitected the entire system to improve the performance of a high-volume multitenant SaaS platform for delivering financial analytics to merchants of major payment processing companies.

Atul also co-founded Sumbon in May 2015 and served as the Head of Engineering. Atul oversaw product development and led the team in delivering fundraising and donor management tools to non-profits. Atul also identified and promoted talent to manage and lead their respective teams.

From January 2012 to February 2014, Atul worked at Gorilla Logic and played a significant role as the Managing Director - Gorilla Logic India. Atul set up the company's operations in India, grew the team to 25 employees, and managed daily operations.

Prior to Gorilla Logic, Atul worked at Terma Software Labs from January 2003 to December 2011 as a Senior Solutions Architect. Atul was part of the founding team and was responsible for architecting and developing a predictive analytics product used by financial firms and other companies across various industries. Atul also provided pre and post-sales support for Fortune 500 customers.

At the beginning of their career, Atul worked at Stirling Systems Group as a Senior Architect and Senior Consultant from September 1996 to December 2002. Atul played a key role in developing a visualization product with Java for AutoSys, reducing workload automation latency, and developing an interface between an ERP package and AutoSys.

Atul Awate has a strong educational background with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, which they obtained between 1994 and 1996. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University, graduating in the years 1988 to 1992.

In addition to their formal education, Atul Awate has also obtained several certifications. In March 2023, they completed "The Neuroscience of Strategy and Creative Leadership" certification from LinkedIn. In July 2019, they obtained the "Balancing Multiple Roles as a Leader" certification, also from LinkedIn. Around the same time, they completed the "Scaling Up Excellence: Getting to More Without Settling for Less (Blinkist Summary)" certification and "Strategic Thinking" certification, both from LinkedIn.
