Cheryl Wong Po Foo

Cheryl Wong Po Foo has an extensive background in clinical development and scientific affairs. Cheryl is currently serving as the Director of Clinical Development at Travere Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, Cheryl held the role of Director of Clinical Development at Astellas Gene Therapies from 2019 to 2022. Cheryl has also worked as the Director of Clinical Science at Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc. from 2019 to 2019, and as the Associate Director of Clinical Science from 2017 to 2018. Cheryl's experience includes roles at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. as a Senior Clinical Specialist II in Clinical Sciences, and at BioCardia Inc. where they held various positions such as Director of Clinical & Scientific Affairs and Associate Director of Scientific Affairs. Cheryl's educational background includes a PhD from Tufts University and a Postdoctoral Scholar position at Stanford University, where they focused on stem cell transplantation research.

Cheryl Wong Po Foo completed their education with a BA in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Whittier College in 2000. Cheryl then pursued their PhD in Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Biomedical Engineering at Tufts University from 2001 to 2006. Cheryl was also a PhD candidate in Chemistry and Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University from 2000 to 2001. Cheryl continued their academic journey as a post-doctoral scholar in Biomedical Engineering and Materials Engineering at Stanford University from 2006 to 2009. Prior to these degrees, Cheryl completed their O-Level and A-Level education at Queen Elizabeth College from 1989 to 1995.
