Jeffrey Vitter is an accomplished computer scientist and consultant with extensive experience in big data, databases, data compression, networking, telecommunications, and algorithm design. Vitter has held prominent academic positions, including serving as the Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at Tulane University and as Distinguished Professor of Computer & Information Science and 17th Chancellor at the University of Mississippi. Previous roles include Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor at the University of Kansas, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academics at Texas A&M University, Frederick L. Hovde Dean of Science and Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University, and Gilbert, Louis, and Edward Lehrman Professor of Computer Science at Duke University, where Vitter also chaired the Department of Computer Science.
