Valerie Guder

Valerie Guder has over a decade of experience in tax-related roles. Valerie most recently worked as the Director (Head of Tax), Corporate Tax at TuSimple, a publicly traded technology company. In this role, they led the tax function and advised senior executives on tax-efficient structures for key business initiatives. Valerie'sresponsibilities also included tax accounting, compliance, planning, transfer pricing, and indirect taxes.

Prior to joining TuSimple, Valerie worked as a Senior Manager International Tax at True Partners Consulting from July 2021 to March 2022.

Valerie also has a significant tenure at Discover Financial Services, where they held various roles. From July 2019 to July 2021, they served as the Manager, International Tax Compliance, Planning, Policy, and Audit. Before that, they were a Project Manager, overseeing international and federal tax planning, policy, and audit from October 2017 to July 2019. Valerie started their career at Discover as a Senior Tax Associate in January 2014, where they gained valuable experience in tax-related work until October 2017.

Valerie began their tax career at Grant Thornton LLP, where they worked as a Senior Tax Associate from October 2011 to January 2014.

Valerie Guder has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Taxation from DePaul University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting at DePaul University from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, Valerie holds a certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), obtained at an undisclosed institution and year.
