Sophie Collier

Sophie Collier is an experienced animal care and conservation professional with a comprehensive background in managing and caring for wildlife. Currently serving as a Great Ape Keeper at Twycross Zoo since March 2022, Sophie previously held roles including Enrichment Programme Manager and Intern at Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center, and Reserve Manager at Life Net Nature. Additional experience includes coordinating interns at Fundación Para La Tierra, caring for chimpanzees at Fundacio MONA, and conducting field research as a Field Research Assistant for The Chacma Baboon Behavioural Project. Sophie began their career as a Graduate Ecologist at RPS Group and coordinated volunteers for The Orangutan Tropical Peatland Project. Educationally, Sophie earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Exeter from 2011 to 2014.
