Charlotte Barslev

Head Of Division International Employment And EU Free Movement at Udlændinge- og Integrationsministeriet

Charlotte Barslev has a diverse work experience in various government and European Commission roles. Charlotte started their career as the Head of Section at the Danish Immigration Service from 1997 to 2001. Then, they worked as a Lawyer at the Court of Justice of the European Union from 2001 to 2005. Following that, they worked as a Lawyer and later as a Legal Officer at the European Commission's Legal Service and DG Justice, Citizenship, and EU Free Movement from 2005 to 2013. In 2013, they became the Head of Section at the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Interior's Division on Family Affairs. Charlotte later joined the Udlændinge- og Integrationsministeriet as the Deputy Head of Division on International Cooperation on Migration from 2015 to 2018. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Division - International Employment and EU Free Movement at the same ministry.

Charlotte Barslev attended Aarhus University from 1990 to 1997, where they obtained a Jurist (cand.jur) degree with a field of study in Jura. In 1993 to 1994, they furthered their education at the University of Strasbourg, earning a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in EU Law and Human Rights Law. Additionally, in 2008 to 2009, they also studied EU Law at King's College London.
