Sheema Sen Gupta

Sheema Sen Gupta is an accomplished professional in child protection, currently serving as the Director of Child Protection and UNICEF Representative in Iraq since May 2021. Prior to this role, Sheema held various positions within UNICEF, including the UNICEF Representative a.i in Afghanistan and Deputy Representative from February 2019 to March 2021, as well as Deputy Representative for UNICEF Bangladesh from November 2016 to February 2019. Earlier in the career, Sheema served as the Chief of the Child Protection Programme at UNICEF from November 2011 to November 2016 and held leadership positions in child protection in Ghana, Sri Lanka, and India, including roles as Chief of Child Protection and Child Protection Consultant.
