Rachel Gore Freed has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Rachel Gore started their career as a Legal Assistant at the Center for Reproductive Rights in 2004 and later worked as a Legal Clerk at the United Nations, specifically in the Office of the Prosecutor, Trial of Charles Taylor, where they performed tasks such as tracking trial evidence and assisting with witness preparation.
Rachel then worked as a Refugee Advocate at The List Project for the Resettlement of Iraqi Allies, where they designed and implemented a strategic plan, drafted national policy recommendations, and established an Iraqi women's support group.
Rachel Gore then became a Political Asylum & Civil Litigation Attorney at the Law Office of Theodore Cox & Associates, where they represented low-income immigrants in immigration court proceedings and drafted appellate briefs.
Following this, Rachel joined the National Environmental Law Center as a Staff Attorney, where they represented citizen groups and non-profit organizations in public interest litigation against violators of federal environmental laws and public health laws. Rachel Gore also participated in a significant trial against Exxon Mobile involving air emission violations.
Rachel went on to work at the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) as a Senior Program Leader for Rights at Risk before transitioning to the role of Vice President and Chief Program Officer.
Currently, Rachel is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Northeastern University School of Law.
Rachel Gore Freed has a diverse educational background. Rachel Gore attended the School for International Training and completed the International Honors Program with a focus on Sustainable International Development. Following that, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Relations and International Development from The George Washington University. Rachel then went on to attend Vanderbilt University Law School, where they obtained their J.D. degree. In addition to their formal education, Rachel also obtained a Leadership, Organizing, and Action Certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School.
