Alan Dana, AIA has 8 years of work experience in the architecture and design industry. In 2020, they joined United Dwelling as Vice President of Forward Planning, Director of Land Use and Entitlements, and Entitlements Manager. In this role, they managed site planning and permitting for factory-built ADU and low-rise residential development projects, leading an in-house and third-party drafting team, and coordinating the work of surveyors and civil and structural engineers. From 2014 to 2020, they worked for Modative as a Project Manager, where they were responsible for the design and entitlement of residential projects of various scales, including small-lot subdivisions, apartments, and condominiums. From 2011 to 2014, they worked for John V. Mutlow Architects as a Project Manager, coordinating project development from the design phase through construction documentation, drawing schematic, design, and construction documents for multi-family affordable housing projects in Los Angeles, and managing the plan check and permitting process. In 2011, they worked for ad|design as an Architect. From 2010 to 2009, they worked as a Class Assistant at the University of Southern California. In 2009, they worked for Grupo Riviera as a Designer, assisting in the design of a new home furnishings line, 3D modeling and CAD drafting, product testing and fabrication models and drawings, and coordinating and overseeing home furniture show room layout and lighting.

Alan Dana, AIA has an extensive educational background. Alan received a B.S. in Architectural Studies from the University of Southern California in 2008, followed by a MArch in American Architecture and Urbanism, Landscape Architecture from the same university in 2011. In 2014, they obtained a certification as an Architect from the California Architects Board. In 2015, they obtained a National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Certification (NCARB) from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and was also certified as an Architect by The American Institute of Architects (AIA).
